Melissa and Ryan’s pre wedding photography

Pre wedding photography

It was the most beautiful evening for Ryan and Melissa’s pure wedding photography. One of those unusually warm evenings we long for but rarely seem to occur at this time of year.

Meilissa and Ryan’s pre wedding photography Oxfordshire at the Perch, Port Meadow. A lovely setting by the river. It was such fun to photograph them both and the true romance and excitement came through in the photos from their engagement shoot. I’m now looking forward to their big day!

We chose Port Meadow as it is the largest area of common land in Oxford. Freemen and the Commoners of Wolvercote have grazing rights that are still exercised today. It was ideal for a reed informal shoot where we could just go for a walk whilst I captured the loving couple, being themselves.

Port Meadow is bordered on the western edge by the Thames and for a large part of the year parts of the Meadow are flooded, bringing flocks of migratory birds. A burial ground can be found in the centre of the meadow and for these reasons the Meadow is both a SSSI and a scheduled monument.

A classic Oxford activity is to walk up the west side of the Meadow, have a pint at the Perch, and then continue up north for another pint and some roasted chestnuts and mulled wine at the Trout Inn in Wolvercote. It’s approximately a 50 minute stroll to the Trout from the southern edge of the Meadow.

Below are a few of the lovely photos from their shoot…
